2010 In Review

I know its like the 9th already and this is sort of overdue... but here are my thoughts on music in 2010.

My Favorite New Artists:

1. Bruno Mars - Kid has a SICK voice. Haven't heard anything like it in ages! His features on B.o.B and Travie McCoy's tracks were sick and his own singles were absolute smash hits. If he doesn't get the Grammy's in 2011 I'm going to be upset!

2. Tinie Tempah - Came out in the UK in Feb... CRAZY good MC with a fun dance vibe. He's def going to break the US in 2011, I've already seen him featured on mtv.com!

3. B.o.B - This is exactly the sound I love. My favorite tracks of his are his piano driven ones, they're a bit haunting, but amazing. Airplanes was a total hit.

4. Ellie Goulding - Came out in the UK right at the beginning of the year. Her track Starry Eyed is unlike anything out there rights now, and her album Lights is a great listen.

5. Ke$ha - Don't judge. She's done some pretty cool things this year, and had five singles! My faves are her most recent two, Take it Off and We R Who We R. I totally appreciate the mixing on the tracks even if others don't :)

My Favotire Albums of 2010:

1. JLS - Outta This World. Nothing can beat this. I love it toooooo much! I love The Club is Alive and Love You More, the 2010 singles from this track... but Eyes Wide Shut, the Feb 2011 single is the biggest smash of them all. Was great to see this album performed live in December 2010!

2. Tinie Tempah - Disc-overy. All sorts of big tracks! Tinie's done some crazy things for grime, and may be just what the industry needs to crack the US. I love Wonderman ft. Ellie Goulding and of course Frisky ft. Labrinth.

3. B.o.B - Adventures of Bobby Ray. When it comes to rap I appreciate a bit of creativy outside of the rhymes. B.o.B brings all sorts of cool things with his piano driven tracks and his crazy features (Paramore and Weezer!).

4. Olly Murs - Olly Murs. Olly got second in the 2009 X Factor, following JLS' footsteps. This is a great pop-y album that brings a new old school vibe. Olly has an amazing voice and his tracks are upbeat and fun to listen to.

5. Bruno Mars - Doo Woops and Hooligans. Amazing! Creative! Love itt!!! Best track is Talking to the Moon and Marry You is a close second.

6. McFly - Above the Noise. Already their fifth studio album. Above the Noise is a different sound with a more synth beat, but its great. My favorite track is their upcoming single Nowhere Left to Run.

7. Diddy Dirty Money - Last Train to Paris. This is a late addition, but I've recently fallen in love with it. Diddy gets a lot of shit, but he's a genius! I love Coming Home ft. Skylar Grey.

My favorite singles in 2010:

1. Airplanes by B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams

2. OMG and DJ Got Us Fallin In Love by Usher

3. Fuck You by Cee-Lo Green

4. Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars

5. Whip My Hair by Willow Smith

6. Bass Down Low by Dev

7. Break My Heart by Taio Crus (predicted him a year ago!)
Looking towards 2011:

My ten most played singles of 2010 on itunes:

1. JLS - One Shot
2. JLS - The Club is Alive
3. Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed
4. B.o.B - Airplanes
6. Blame ft. Ruff Sqwad - On My Own
7. Tinie Tempah - Frisky
8. Kid Sister - Daydreaming
9. N-Dubz - Playing With Fire
10. Tinie Tempah -Pass Out

The Worst of 2010

1. Black Eyed Peas - I wish I liked them but I hate them. Dirty Bit? PUH-LEASE.

2. Like a G6. I like half the track. The half with Dev and The Cataracs. This song is sampled off of one of Dev's other tracks and is in no way creative for the Far East Movement. Booo they annoy me.

3. Katy Perry - Firework. Vomit. Terrible.

Some Artists to Look for in 2011:

1. Miguel--LOVE HIS ALBUM!!! WOWOWOWOW!

2. Tinie Tempah--He's coming watch out.

3. Dev--Bass Down Low is hot, I can't wait to see what else she does.

4. Ellie Goulding--The US needs her sound. Badly.

5. Cheryl Cole--Chezza is hopefully coming over with Simon for The US X Factor, fingers crossed her songs do too!

6. JLS--I want them to come over ;-)

Here's to an exciting 2011!!!
